Birth and Postpartum Doula

Hi, I’m Tisa. I am a certifying Labour and Postpartum Doula and proud mom of six beautiful children. I consider myself to be a compassionate person who strives to help you and your family navigate this new exciting chapter of your lives. I strongly believe it is my mission to help you have not only a positive birth and postpartum journey but to help better assist and equip you with all the right tools for success.

My passion for birth work began 20 years ago after the birth of my eldest son, due to a series of events that could have very well crippled me but that only made me stronger. I was very fortunate to find access to many great regional programs and I met someone who not only poured wisdom into me at a young age but believed I could do great things in this field of work. I will never let my birth trauma define me, rather it has shaped me into who I am today. I am dedicated to providing assistance, support and spreading the message that you are not alone.

My role as your doula is to provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support. I am committed to empowering you to make informed decisions. The postpartum stage isn't a race, it's about picking up the little pieces we may lose along the way.

When I am not attending a birth or working overnight postpartum shifts, you can most likely find me in the comfort of my home surrounded by my family. My house is filled with laughter, playful banter, persistent chirps from my lovebirds and conure, and yapping can be heard from the family Pomeranian; Mochi. I enjoy worship nights held by my church, reading webtoons, soaking up k-dramas and building miniature wooden puzzles and book-nooks.

What Clients Have Said

  • I can only try to put into words how grateful and appreciative I am and was for Tisa's care. Prior to her services, I had underestimated the importance of a doula and had no real idea of how beneficial a doula could be for any mom. Tisa supported me through the pregnancy of my fourth living child, during the delivery of that child, and also postpartum. Needless to say, she was crucial in my recovery from that 4th C-section, and the mental load of caring for four little ones. I had support at home through my husband and my mother, but they were there for my children's needs. Tisa was there for my needs, and provided me with resources all throughout my pregnancy and postpartum, that helped support me, the mom. Tisa provided me with tools and information that helped me through pelvic pain, and reminded me of the things that I could do to prepare for a C-section recovery. I can't thank her enough for her services, because they definitely made me a huge advocate for doulas. Because of Tisa, I believe every mom deserves a doula that will support her during their beautiful, but very stressful, journey through pregnancy and motherhood.

  • We had a wonderful Doula experience with Tisa, and I highly recommend her services. This was our first pregnancy and both my husband's and my family live out of province and country, so it was important for us that our Doula had first hand experience at giving birth. I would say Tisa is an expert as she is the mother to 6 beautiful children. She shared some of her personal experiences with us and was extremely supportive in our decisions and birth plan. When it came time for baby to arrive, she was at the hospital within the hour and had a bag full of supplies to help ease me through the labour pains. She was my biggest advocate asking all the right questions to the Dr's and nursing team. We would have been lost without her. Overall, Tisa was a blessing to us during this very special time. We continue to stay in contact and she checks-in regularly on my postpartum journey and baby's development. 5 star rating !!
