Stephanie Borgen MSW, RSW
Registered Social Worker/Psychotherapist
Hi, I’m Stephanie!
I have the honour of supporting individuals as they manage the many peaks and valleys of their parenting journey. Becoming a parent can feel overwhelming, full of many added challenges you may not have seen coming. Seeking support is a courageous step toward healing. As a psychotherapist, I believe every client is unique, and my practice is centered on creating a safe, compassionate space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgment.
Why Work With Me?
I get it: as a mother of two, and having personally experienced fertility treatments, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum challenges, I deeply understand the emotional weight of this season of life. My goal is to help you process these experiences, strengthen your emotional well-being, and feel empowered as you step into parenthood.
I take a holistic, client-centered approach tailored to your individual needs. I aim to help you unpack your birth experience, process birth trauma, move through tough experiences with rage and grief, and get to the root of perinatal mood disorders. My goal is to ensure therapy is a space where you can openly express your fears and struggles while feeling seen and heard. I offer a personalized approach to help you build resilience and foster real, meaningful change.
I am a Canadian Certified Perinatal Mental Health (CC-PMH) Therapist, specializing in supporting mothers and families during their journey into parenthood and beyond. This transition can bring a range of emotions, and I am passionate about helping individuals navigate the complexities of fertility and conception, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum seasons. I am here to offer compassionate, evidence-based support, and my hope is that our sessions together feel warm, connecting, validating, and encouraging.
My Approach
I integrate various evidence-based modalities, including mindfulness, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), attachment therapies, and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), to create a customized treatment plan that aligns with your needs. I am grounded in an intersectional feminist, trauma-informed, strength-based, and person-centered approach. Through our work together, we will consider your personal history and life experiences while identifying thought and behaviour patterns that may be keeping you stuck, empowering you to move forward with greater confidence and increased self-awareness. I strive to meet you where you’re at. You are the expert of your own experience and as such, I will always consider your voice every step of the way.
